My Poem

O men, hear me, I hate humanity,
For there is end of innocence, no humanity.
Without mercy and morality, only malice,
Upon virtue, there is a rule of vice.

When I thought about my life,
Memorize only my pain and grief;
All the sorrows and sufferings,
That given by human beings.

I run far away from there,
And try to forget cruelty of theirs.
I sit under the shady Tree,
And feel as it talks to me.

Fluttering Leaves welcome me,
And Bough also bends on me.
I like to live in the lap of loving Tree,
It consoles me, makes me misery-free.

Suddenly, near me, I see a little Boy,
Sowing a Shrub with full of joy.
I surprise, the sight, I saw never,
Then smile, as I promise to smile forever!

  1. Hi Pooja,
First I want to say that this is very well written poem by you. You did very great job. I really liked your such idea. I am giving my views.
It can be clearly seen that this poem is about so called humanity v/s nature. Here a kind of pessimism is shown. This poem is dealing with perverseness of human being and purity of nature. It is true that nature is the ultimate shelter for man's grief. Here we can find voice of those people, who are tired from complex life and society. So such people go to nature for peace.
The end is very effective. Whole poem seems pessimistic, but at the end you plant the seeds of hope and happiness. It seems wonderful.
Your poem is very much admirable. One thing I want to ask you that in first two lines you wrote "I hate humanity" and "end of innocence, no humanity"...so the persona hates "humanity" or "human beings"?
I am waiting for your reply.

  2. Hi pooja,
First of all thanks for share beautiful poem, I like it very much. And it is really well written poem, I know you are good writer and earlier you wrote many beautiful thing...and I like this thing very much in you..
Now I give my views..contain of the poem is man's voidness. Pessimism is shown here as riddhi said, nature is very important source in human's life.
In my view today we have no time to see nature or I can say man have no eyes to show nature. But when man feel lonely he/she go to nature.
I put one sentence releted with this: " One touch of nature makes the whole world kin." - by William Shakespeare...So I only said that nature is a source of living. Whole poem is very good but I most like first and last two stanza of the poem. In the first starting of the poem in last line you use the word Virtue & Vice both are opposite words and that is affect me lot. Last line 'I saw never or smile forever it creates hope....thanks.

  4. Hi Pooja,
I read your poem, well written poem by using such simple language and using alliteration and rhythms.it seems that poet has suffered a lot from the society and may be his/her experience of human beings is not good.in first three stanza it seems that poet is talking about himself only but from the last stanza he/she takes the reader to another world,I find the sudden shift from the human world to natural world.poet finds the ultimate relief from the pain in the lap of nature.so may be poet somehow tried to show that the ultimate helper of human being is nature,as in the lap of nature poet could ignore his agony.
    thank you

  5. hi poojaba, i read your poem it's really nice. and when i read i feel that there is a voice of person who is suffer from society or may be his or her family. and then he or she goes to nature and nature welcomes him or her like always welcome everybody. so then he or she feels peace and enjoy the nature.and also according to my view there is a person who was tired from the city life or the people who lives with him. so, thats why he or she goes to find the peace of his or her mind.
so, it's my view. might be it's not match with your view, that you have written in poem . but i try that may be you wrote in this context.
